Hulu Renews ‘Casual’ for Final Season

News

The end is near for Hulu’s dramedy, Casual, which has been renewed for its fourth and final season.

The eight-episode final season will premiere in 2018, Variety reports.

Casual, which stars Michaela Watkins as Valerie Meyers, Tommy Dewey as Alex Cole, and Tara Lynne Barr as Laura Meyers, premiered on Hulu in 2015 as one of the streaming platform’s first original programs.

From the minds of creator Zander Lehmann, showrunner Liz Tigelaar, and director Jason Reitman, Casual received critical acclaim, and nabbed a Golden Globe nomination for best television series, musical or comedy in 2016.

The show ended its third season this past summer with a few stories unresolved, including Rae’s pregnancy coming to light and Val finding out Laura has left town to live with her grandmother.

We hope these final episodes wrap up Casual in a satisfying way for fans, and in a way that stays true to the identity of the show.
