7. Breadcrumbs Summer Ship: Brienne & Jaime, Game of Thrones

We wait through Ed Sheeran sing-a-longs, mansplaining boyfriends and supercilious sister squabbles so we can get to this ship. Brienne and Jaime finally reunite! Even though we only get breadcrumbs of interaction, the reunion put wind in the sails of this ship.

It may sail after all! Also, are we the only ones to interpret “F*ck Loyalty!” as “F*ck me!” No? Good.

Even though Tormund’s admiration and longing for Brienne is completely understandable, and we enjoy hearing Tormund fantasize about having kids with her (he would totally have “Mr. Tormund of Tarth” surrounded by a heart in his school binders), we continue to ship Brienne and Jaime because of the mutual respect and desire that is between them.

8. Summer Ship Love Triangle: Sutton & Alex & Richard, The Bold Type

Sutton and Richard sneak around and have illicit hook-ups in the first half of The Bold Type Season 1, and We. Are. Here. For. It.

But even when they are at their most fun and in love, Richard’s controlling personality slinks into the fray and showcases how better suited Alex is for Sutton. Late in the season Alex turns on the sex appeal with piercing lines like “That’s too bad, because if you weren’t I’d kiss you right now,” and the triangle is formed!

Sutton is clearly smitten with love for Richard, but we aren’t convinced it is end game just yet. Alex has made too much of an impression for that. Regardless of the suitor ultimately chosen, we are excited to travel this triangle with Sutton in future seasons.

9. Rudderless Summer Ship: Kelsey & Zane, Younger

He leans over, tension rising as eyes gaze at mouths and back to eyes. They kiss and his finger lingers over her pink parted lips annnnnd we ship it. Wait!! What?! NO, we DO NOT SHIP KELSEY AND JOSH! Like Kelsey says immediately after their kiss, “It’s not crazy, it’s just not right.”

Which leaves us with Zane. Who is incredibly sexy, but so far is just a list of generic “perfect guy” qualities, like a nice butt and chef skills.

But, this ship has potential and the flirt fighting that got us hooked from the get-go might be enough to carry us through to OTP status. This is especially true as it is the ONLY ship featuring a POC in the entire series so far.

10. The Perfect Summer Ship: Adena & Kat, The Bold Type

Kat’s relationship with Adena is a voyage of self-discovery. Adena guides Kat into being a partner in a mature relationship, not just a pairs of lips in a fling.

This ship is also essential because it explores a gay relationship between an out Muslim woman and a woman of color who is embracing her bisexuality for the first time. Credit goes to The Bold Type writing team because the ship is developed so that it isn’t only about its representation, it’s about finding a romance and love that extends beyond a one night stand to embrace the complications that come with commitment.

11. Teen Summer Ship: Scott & Malia, Teen Wolf

Stydia isn’t the only ship on Teen Wolf that we howl for, #Scalia has also delivered some hair-raising scenes in the final season of the MTV series!

After being brought to the brink of death on Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 16, “Triggers,” Malia divulges that she has so much more that she wants to do with her life, like kiss Scott! The writing of this ship moment is a little stale and predictable, but the kiss itself is delightful and has just the right amount of hair grabbing to get our hearts racing.

We’ll be ready with our popcorn to finally see the steamy shower scene teased in the trailers.

12. Marriage Goals Summer Ship: Alison & Donnie, Orphan Black

The quirky and colorful romance between married couple Allison and Donnie on Orphan Black took a backseat to the thrilling science action that filled the last season of the show. But, that did not prevent us from being able to gobble up the ever-deepening endearing love between these two.

They find their unique rhythm and it makes us fall in love with their love every episode.
