Teen Wolf Review: Said the Spider to the Fly (Season 6 Episode 11)

Teen Wolf‘ Season 6 Episode 11, “Said the Spider to the Fly,” sees the end of the MTV hit series begin just as our pack is starting to build their lives outside of Beacon Hills.

It’s bittersweet watching Scott, Malia, and Lydia trying to close this chapter of their lives to just be pulled back in by the people who still need them in this town and those who fear them.

It’s also uplifting to see them working to have a future bigger than werewolves, kanimas, and Dread Doctors. They know that Liam, Mason, Melissa, Parrish, and the Sheriff will fight for this town while they’re away.

As for their decision to not tell Stiles about what’s going on…it’s the right move. They almost lost Stiles and want to keep him separate from what’s happening in Beacon Hills. Will Stiles be a bit upset when he finds out what they did? Yes. Will he understand? Yes.

Besides, Stiles is going to be busy trying to figure out what’s going on with Derek. He’s been labeled a mass murderer by the FBI and somehow caught running in the forest shirtless. (We both know they would’ve caught him if they weren’t so busy filming his extremely fit body.)

Stiles knows that brooding werewolf wouldn’t hurt anyone unless absolutely necessary. And as is custom between these two, he’s going to save the “sourwolf” while squabbling and giving each other the eyes.

You know what eyes I’m talking about. The ones where Stiles is teasing and Derek is glaring but kind of likes it and thinks of Stiles with a touch of fondness. (I’ve missed their chemistry.)

Honestly, I was worried that 6B was just a money grab, a last hurrah to keep the old days alive. I was wrong. This is an extension of the Teen Wolf verse that doesn’t lose what we love about the McCall pack.

In fact, it’s about bringing back OG (Original Cast) members and reminding fans of where we started and how far we’ve come as fans and a pack. There will be pain, there will be action, and there will be loads of “wth” moments ahead of us.

But it’ll be the ending that this show deserves. Hopefully. Maybe I’m speaking too soon and getting ahead of myself. Crossing my fingers as we speak that I’m right and that MTV is taking care of the McCall pack and all its members (including the fans.)

Additional Notes:
  • The AU with FBI Stiles and Criminal Derek is actually happening. Praise be.
  • We’re with you Malia. We all need hot French men.
  • The other hell-hound is there for 2.5 seconds after being encased in volcanic ash for decade, before being killed off. What a waste.
  • Can Parrish sense this creature that the hell-hound felt?

Teen Wolf’s Cody Christian Talks Theo and Season 6B [Video]

Lyra is a TV and movie enthusiast. It all started on a dark night when she turned on Fox and fell in love with the X-Files. It was all history after that as she got lost in Doctor Who, The Marvel Verse and most recently everything DC. Her love for Doctor Who lead her to study abroad, where she fell into live-tweeting and the lovely explosion of fandom life that Tumblr is. Her main love for the summer (with a mega re-watch happening) is Arrow. When she isn’t sharing her love for TV and movies she’s writing fan-fiction, taking care of her family, and puttering around her kitchen.
