 17 Best Television Shows About Space | Tell-Tale TV - Part 3

The most iconic series of space travel, this show follows the crew of the starship USS Enterprise as it completes its missions which include confronting new alien races as they explore uncharted worlds. The diverse crew, led by Captain Kirk, explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and to boldly go where no man has gone before.

This show continues to leave a lasting impact on television audiences for numerous reasons including having the first interracial kiss and being listed in the Guinness Book of Records for having the largest number of spin-off productions, which included the feature film series and the numerous television series.

My favorite line from series: Captain Kirk — “There’s no such thing as the unknown — only things temporarily hidden, temporarily not understood.”

 17 Best Television Shows About Space | Tell-Tale TV - Part 3

This series broke away from the mold when it featured a female Captain and the story line was about getting back to Earth after being stranded in another quadrant and has to make an extremely long journey across an unexplored region of the galaxy to find its way back home. The crew encounters different species, adds new crew members, has some romantic entanglements, all of which only make them long to be home.

This series takes a different approach surviving a nuclear destroyed Earth, as it is about saving humanity’s future both in space and back on the Earth they thought was destroyed. The juveniles sent back to Earth to test its habitability are put in some extreme situations on the planet, and with the group having only lived in space, it makes for some unique complications.

This series looks at the human race after it has colonized the solar system, and there is now an interplanetary war brewing between Earth and the militarized Mars. A detective and a rogue ship’s captain come together to investigate a case that leads them all over the solar system, all while slowly exposing what could be one of the significant conspiracies in our history.

My favorite line from series: Jim Holden — “I’m just the messenger, I have half a platoon of pissed-off Martian marines who are just itching for some payback.”

Hillary is television fanatic and spends most of her free time talking about all things television and pop culture, even if it’s just with baby padawan (her son) and her wife. Her current day job is working within the nonprofit sector, and she is pretty much in love with any show that has strong female characters. Never one to be boxed into any sort of genre, her show preferences range from Wynonna Earp and Dark Matter to One Day At a Time and Modern Family.
