The excitement was contagious.

On Sunday during the ATX Television Festival in Austin, TX., the cast of Suits gathered with creator Aaron Korsh and guests Abigail Spencer and Nick Wechsler for a script reading of the show’s pilot episode followed by a Q&A. (View the full script reading and check out photos from the event below.)

The script reading was in honor of the upcoming 100th episode of Suits, a milestone that has become more and more rare for television shows to hit.

It was announced earlier during the festival that Patrick J. Adams will direct the 100th episode.

All main cast members were in attendance for the script reading: Meghan Markle, Gina Torres, Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, and Rick Hoffman.

It was a feeling of celebration as each cast member came out on stage, with Gabriel Macht taking video of the crowd and photos of his cast mates. Each member of the cast read their part in the pilot script, but they weren’t afraid to have a little fun with it and improvise throughout the reading.

Of course, it was also nostalgic for all of them to revisit that pilot.

“I wanted to start by saying I wrote this script, it seems like a hundred years ago, and I was proud of it, but they were just words on the page until these six people made every person in this read come alive. I remember meeting all of them for the first time,” said creator Aaron Korsh.

As Meghan Markle read the scene in which she confesses to Mike that she’s not a good test-taker, she stopped for just a moment. “Oh my god. I remember this. I think this is my audition scene,” she recalled.

Following the table read, cast members answered questions and reflected on early memories.

“Sometimes work can feel like work, and this felt like play the whole time,” Patrick J. Adams said as he remembered early days of filming the series. “It just felt like everybody was in it together.”

“There was an instant level of comfort,” Gina Torres said.

The cast members also recalled some of their most challenging scenes. “Mud. That’s it,” said Rick Hoffman.

“Sex in the file room was weird,” Adams laughed.

For Gina Torres, her most challenging was something emotional — leaving the series. “My finale episode was hard,” she admitted.

It sounds like we still haven’t seen the last of Jessica Pearson, however. “I wedged that door open on my way in,” Torres hinted as she talked about her return on the Season 6 finale.

Rick Hoffman was grateful for the opportunity to celebrate the milestone 100th episode with fans.

“To sit here for a hundred episodes with my cast members … and to be here in front of you, I can’t thank you guys enough for being here to support this show and actually sit through the pilot read. All I gotta say is thank you, and I’ll never forget it,” Hoffman said.

Suits returns for Season 7 on Wednesday, July 12th at 9/8c to USA. The 100th episode will air on August 30th.
