Pretty Little Liars: 11 Moments from “Hold Your Piece” That Made Us Laugh, Cry, and Wish We Hadn’t Eaten Beforehand (Season 7 Episode 13)
Another roll of the dice on Pretty Little Liars, and this time it’s Hanna who gets a freaky and downright mean task. Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 13 “Hold Your Piece” may focus on Hanna’s turn, but it gave us plenty of other moments to react to as well.
Here are some moments that made us laugh, cry, and wish we hadn’t eaten dinner beforehand.
1. Crying Phone
The opening with the crying phone is little hilarious, if only because it gives us a bit of physical comedy in what is otherwise a very heavy episode. It resulted in the Liars tossing a pillow around while discussing who A.D. is.
2. The Dress Scandal
File this under frustrating. It never feels good to be accused of stealing, and for a budding designer like Hanna, it’s devastating. The “stolen” design that all the fashion blogs are talking about is like anvil sitting over Hanna’s head.
And let’s be clear, Mona showed the senator’s daughter the dress. Hanna didn’t want her to wear it, but from what Hanna describes, it sounds like her work. Her boss providing feedback, and Hanna taking the feedback, doesn’t necessarily make the resulting dress the second designer’s work.
3. The Anonymous Donor

Add an eye roll and a little more anger to this moment. A walk down memory lane comes in the form of Sydney Driscoll, who Emily and Aria stalk this week to see if they can locate Jenna.
Sydney is at an eye clinic making a payment, giving us another meaning for the initials “A.D.” This time it’s “anonymous donor” as Sydney drops off a payment for Jenna’s eye operation.
Personally, I don’t buy Sydney’s ignorance act. I feel like she must know more than what she’s letting on, but time will tell.
4. Yvoby Wedding
We can use some warm and fuzzy. I couldn’t be happier to hear that Yvonne is out of her coma. They had a quiet, understated, hospital wedding ceremony.
Seriously, who has the tissues?
5. Spencer and Furey Kiss
Watching Spencer and Detective Furey grow closer over the course of the last season has been really interesting, but I think he has something to offer her now that she didn’t always see, especially since he was able to give her perspective on her two moms.
In context, their kiss in the community center felt like a payoff, but it also wasn’t forced.
6. The Game Gases Caleb

In a heart-pounding moment this week, Liars Lament tries to gas Caleb for tampering with it.
It should be no surprise that minute Caleb learns about the existence of Liars Lament, he’s intent on trying to figure out how it works. Caleb has never not wanted to help Hanna when it comes to A, so it’s no surprise he would be determined to pull the plug on A.D. too.
7. Hanna Apologizes to Lucas
As Hanna gets ready for the investor meeting that will complete her challenge and earn her puzzle piece, she’s very slumped over and clearly struggling with the task she’s been given.
Watching her apologize to Lucas was a really heartbreaking. It’s clear that Hanna appreciates the opportunity Lucas is giving her and doesn’t want to let him down.
8. Yvonne Dies

More tears this week! After getting married, Yvonne dies after having a talk about traveling with Toby. It’s a sweet scene, but I did not see it ending with her death.
This death is so unusual for Pretty Little Liars because, usually, when a character dies, it’s because someone wanted them dead, and they expire in a bloody or dramatic fashion.
Yvonne just slipped away, and it leaves us unsure of how to process this scene. One thing’s for sure, we’ll miss Kara Royster.
9. Say Goodbye to Your Prize

ASHLEY BENSON
Real talk, Hanna’s prompt is just mean! Having her wear a Japanese-inspired dress to meet Japanese investors, knowing that it would offend them and make them pull money from Hanna’s line is insensitive, at best. Still, Hanna’s anger is completely justified.
In the previous two challenges, Spencer had nothing to lose, and Emily was in deep water anyway with Addison’s allegations. So, is Hanna right for being a little ticked at the fact that she’s being asked to sacrifice something she wants desperately?
Yes, and if A.D. is escalating I would hate to be Aria or Ali right now.
10. Nicole?
When a figure stands up in Ezra’s apartment towards the end of the episode, gut instinct is to grab the closest pointy thing with a handle and get poised to swing, but then they reveal that the figure is Nicole.
Nicole. Who should be in New York. Where Ezra has been to see her. And yet, there’s no Ezra is sight.
So, that begs the question: If Nicole is in Rosewood, where the heck is Ezra?
11. The Police Get a Package
When the Rosewood P.D. opens that package to find a finger, not only does a look of confusion run across my face, but I have to wonder how the mail carriers at the Rosewood P.D. haven’t started a betting pool about what disgusting thing will show up in the mail next.
Thinking about it, the finger in the mail has to be payback for Hanna not completing her challenge. A.D. gets the Liars to play the game by threatening to reveal what happened to Rollins. Sending the cops a decaying finger that will slide him away from missing and to deceased, starts a chain reaction.
