First Look Trailer for ‘Life Sentence’ Starring Lucy Hale

News, Previews

The Pretty Little Liars series finale is rapidly approaching, but one Liar won’t be off our screens for long.

Lucy Hale will come off a seven season run playing Aria Montgomery to star in the hour-long CW dramedy, Life Sentenceset to premiere midseason.

The CW released a first look trailer the series, at their Upfront on Thursday. Lucy Hale tweeted a photo of herself on stage in front of the series’ poster with the caption: “So excited.”

Life Sentence follows a young woman named Stella who has lived every day of the past eight years like it could be her last. Stella has travelled the world, gotten married, and faced her biggest fears. Then, Stella is told she’s not dying after all.

That might sound like a happy ending, but it’s just the beginning as Stella starts to realize that her friends and family have been keeping secrets from her in order to create a positive environment so she could beat cancer.

Now she has to come to grips with family secrets, find a way to make her long-term relationship work, get a job, come to grips with her parents’ separation, and accept her mom’s new relationship.

Life Sentence also stars Elliot Knight, Dylan Walsh, Gillian Vigman, Jayson Blair, Brooke Lyons, and Carlos PenaVega. There is currently no set premiere date, but the series is slated for a midseason premiere, so it will likely be sometime in early 2018.

Life Sentence joins current CW dramedies Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which have both been renewed for new seasons.
