Once Upon A Time: 6 Teases For the Mid-Season Premiere

After an almost unbearably long three-month wait, Once Upon A Time is nearly back in our lives.

Once Upon A Time Season 6 Episode 11, “Tougher Than The Rest,” the back half of Season 6 commences. As seen in recently released promo videos and episode photos, the mid-season premiere will pick up immediately after the events of Once Upon A Time Season 6 Episode 10, with Emma and Regina still trapped in the Fake Enchanted Forest of the Evil Queen’s wishverse.

Meanwhile, back in Storybrooke, Belle and Gold are grappling with the news that their son, Gideon, having mysteriously aged to adulthood during his absence, is the masked figure that Emma foresaw killing her.

The mid-season premiere of Once Upon A Time is just a few days away. But for the impatient Oncers among us, here are a few small teases for what to expect from the show’s big return.

1. August’s woodworking skills come in handy

Faux-August’s expertise will be sought, and his scenes with Emma in this installment will make you wish that he was a regular character on the show, back in real-Storybrooke.

2. Gideon’s backstory comes up

He’s not the one-note villain you might expect. The situation is complicated, and it makes for an interesting set-up for the rest of the season.

3. The return of their son provides Belle and Gold with a unifying mission

Clearly, Belle and Gold weren’t in a good place before Gideon’s disappearance. As we already saw, Belle sent her baby son off with the Blue Fairy for his protection – except Blue promptly lost him.

Now, Gideon’s parents have discovered that he’s grown up to become the man who is fated to kill Emma, the Savior. How they both react to this news will mean a lot to Rumbelle fans going forward.

4. Don’t expect Fake Robin to be the same as Regina’s Robin…

He’s not precisely the same Robin that Sean Maguire played before. This is Robin with an edge – definitely a sassier version of the character than we’ve seen him before. It’s a fun new dynamic between Maguire and Lana Parrilla’s Regina.

5. …but do expect emotional scenes between Regina and Robin

Obviously, Robin’s sudden death in Season 5 caused Regina a tremendous amount of grief – particularly because it happened so quickly that she couldn’t get any closure. The introduction of Faux Robin in the wishverse is set up as the perfect way for Regina to achieve said closure.

And trust us when we say, things get heart-wrenching real fast, thanks to Parrilla’s amazing-as-per-usual, raw performance. Emma and Regina also have a conversation that will tug some heartstrings.

6. Expect a hilarious scene courtesy of another faux-version of a familiar character

It’s so good, you guys. Just trust us and prepare for the LOLs.
