Growing Up McGhee Recap: Ro And His Crazy Ideas (Season 2 Episode 7)

Growing Up McGhee, Recaps

It’s Christmas time for the McGhee’s on Growing Up McGhee Season 2 Episode 7, “Ro And His Crazy Ideas.”

The McGhees start off the Christmas time traditions by taking a trip to chop down their tree. Cutting down their tree is a yearly tradition that everyone loves, especially the kids as they get to run around and look for the perfect tree.

After finding the perfect tree to fit inside the house, Ro takes his first attempts at cutting the tree down. It doesn’t take too long before Ro is ripping the tree back and forth to get it up. After a couple of minutes, it finally budges, and they make their way back home.

Mia doesn’t think so at first, but Ro’s idea to decorate the top half of the tree while it’s on the couch is pretty genius. Once they get the tree decorated and set up all they have to worry about is getting the bottom decorated with Christmas ornaments.

The kids then do their favorite thing, decorating the entire house. Watching the kids’ faces light up as they hang up stockings and decorations everywhere is something that can put a smile on anyone’s face.

It’s the little things that keep you coming back to watch Growing Up McGhee, and this is one of them.

This year Mia decides to shake it up by starting a new tradition of doing Dirty Santa for everyone. This is new for the kids because they’ve never had to keep a secret amongst themselves and they’ve never had to buy for anyone else besides themselves.

To start the tradition Mia gives everybody twenty dollars and hauls everyone to the store.

The main thing the children have a problem with is the fact that they aren’t buying things for themselves. Some get the hang of it, but others get upset that they can’t get what they want. Which, it’s understandable because they still aren’t old enough to completely grasp the concept.

The boys are the main ones who go overboard with the items, going well past twenty dollars. Meanwhile, the girls are going for simple things and thinking about it.

When they get home Mia and Ro help them individually wrap each of their presents and put them to the side for later. Now, it’s time for the kids to do one of their favorite things: crafts.

Mia thinks it would be a good idea to get the children to make Christmas cards for everyone in their classes. The kids have too much fun, which leads to more excitement when they finally gather around to deliver their secret Santa presents.

Things start off a little hectic as people forget who they got presents for, but everything ends up working itself out. The kids didn’t do the best at buying for someone else, but it’s experience. It’s something that will help them get better for next year.

It doesn’t matter if you’re having the worst day ever, coming home to watch the McGhee family is sure to put a smile on your face by the end of the episode.

In the end, everyone has a pretty great night and enjoy a nice cup of eggnog as the episode ends.
