Grimm Review: Tree People (Season 6 Episode 9)
“In the morning, glad, I see my foe outstretched beneath the tree.”
On Grimm Season 6 Episode 9, the Wesen of the week is Groot! Okay, so not really, but it’s hard to ignore the similarities. Plus, I’m currently obsessed with baby Groot.
The best part of the case is that some of the old Grimm tools and books make an appearance.
It feels like it’s been far too long since we have seen Nick write his encounter with a Wesen in the Grimm book, and it’s amazing that everyone is helping him figure out what to say.
This is such a small moment, but it shows how essential Monroe, Rosalee, Wu, and Hank are to Nick’s mission. He would not be as successful of a Grimm without their help.
The fact that everyone stays behind to help Nick write in the Grimm book shows how seriously everyone else takes Nick’s job as a Grimm. Hank and Wu could have gone home after the forest after, sort of, solving their case. Monroe and Rosalee could have gone home, letting Nick lock up after he finishes putting everything away and writing in the book.
Instead, all four of them stay with Nick, making sure that the Grimm part of the job is finished as well. I’m really trying not to do a “we’re all in this together” moment, but there’s no way around it — they are a team.

This team is the reason why Grimm is as enjoyable as it is. For six seasons, we have watched Nick’s team slowly develop into the powerhouse that it is now, and you cannot help but to feel proud of how far they have come.
The books are no longer just Nick’s legacy, but the legacy of all of Team Grimm. I would love it if the series ended somehow with Nick writing a note in the book about his team, informing future Grimms that will one day read that book that s/he does not have to do it alone. Wesen can be allies, friends, and even significant others.
Nick’s always been an unusual Grimm. Most Wesen are shocked that he doesn’t just kill Wesen on sight. It would be really neat if working with Wesen became part of Nick’s legacy, and it became a legacy that lived on and shaped the lives of future Grimms.

Aside from the weird blood drops from the mirror and Diana’s comments, we do not actually make that much progress on the demon in the mirror front, which is disappointing.
At first, it looks like Monroe, Eve, and Rosalee are going to spend the hour trying to figure out what’s going on. There is promise of answers, but sadly, the answers never come. Instead, the focus shifts to the Wesen of the week.
As the previews keep reminding us, it’s almost series finale time. WE HAVE FOUR MORE EPISODES LEFT, PEOPLE! There are so many questions swirling around, and, unfortunately, a fear that the credits will roll, and we will still have questions.
Diana, as always, provides a clue as to what’s to come. Adalind and Nick really need to sit her down and have her explain what she knows and her theories about the cloth, the stick, and what’s to come.
Honestly, she is probably going to be the one who breaks the case wide open.
Diana: “In the other place, through the hole in the mirror.”
Monroe: “I’m sorry, through the hole in the mirror?! Okay, we need a buddy system because no on can look into a mirror by themselves until we figure this out.
What did you think of this episode of Grimm? Did anyone else think that Rosalee’s book looked like the Book of Monsters from Harry Potter? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
