Blindspot Review: Draw O Caesar, Erase a Coward (Season 2 Episode 15)
On any given episode, you can expect Blindspot to tell a story with very tight details and a healthy sprinkling of explosions and fight scenes, but Blindspot Season 2 Episode 15, “Draw O Caesar, Erase a Coward,” has all of those elements with a healthy sprinkling of personal drama.
A series of clues draws Team Weller into a human trafficking ring, and while that story is compelling, let’s be honest, we’ve seen it before.
While the tattoo connections and the clues that led to the organ trafficking ring are impressive, there is no question that this episode is meant to spotlight the interpersonal relationships of Team Weller.
Zapata and Jane’s conversation about Oliver is one moment I particularly enjoy, since it shows Jane growing as a person and not just a source for information.
Plus, it’s great to see two independent and strong-willed female characters talking about something that everyone can relate to; dating. Very seldom do we get these two alone together, and it’s refreshing to see a little bit of real talk between them.
Roman and Weller’s scenes are great as well and I really like seeing them interact more. Between the fight scenes and the undercover work, there might be a peaceful friendship in the cards for them yet.
Now, if only Roman or Jane could find a way to tell Kurt about Roman’s part in Emma Shaw’s death, that would be fantastic.
Patterson and Reade also get to spend some quality time together on this episode. These are probably the most turbulent scenes of the entire episode.
Patterson is onto Reade and his drug use. But instead of Patterson’s powers of deduction at work, we get a little bit of Patterson’s personal life outside of the tattoos when she opens up about her brother and his drug use.
Although the moment is small, I wonder if her brother will factor into a future case. Maybe we’ll finally find out Patterson’s first name.
On the other hand, Reade is really getting on my nerves right now.

As interesting as it is to see these interpersonal relationships grow, I am far more interested in what Nas is up to.
Five minutes of this episode are dedicated to a burner phone ringing, a call and response pass phrase, and then Nas going off to meet a mole inside Sandstorm that disappeared months ago.
Red flags are going up left and right!
How do four agents think it’s a good idea to let her go off without backup? Does no one see the problem with this or share at least a little concern?
Theories about Nas have been circulating since the character’s arrival in the first episode, along with the idea that she may be the mole that Shepherd and Roman referred to. Sadly, very little goes into unpacking this moment or the poor decision to let Nas go off on her own to meet this source.
We can’t be sure Nas is the mole, but it’s looking more likely, and if it does turn out she is, all I have to say is “Dang it Blindspot! Why did you make it an obvious new character?”
