Sweet/Vicious: Top Moments from “Fearless” (Season 1 Episode 6)

Reviews, Sweet/Vicious

Sweet/Vicious Season 1 Episode 6, “Fearless,” is chock full of multiple heart wrenching, liberating, and cry-worthy moments with a fine twist of humor. The tides are changing in grand ways for our vagilantes and nothing with ever be the same.

Here are the top moments from “Fearless”!

1. Jules tells Nate how it is.

Despite the way her voice shakes and the tears on her face, this is the strongest that Jules has ever been on Sweet/Vicious. For too long Nate has had power over her, her friendships, and how she leads her life.

This is Jules recognizing that even though she feels broken and empty inside, she has the power. She’s done burying her head in the sand and pretending that things haven’t changed.

Now is the time where she can truly heal.

2. Jules confessing the truth to Kennedy.

Even though Kennedy doesn’t respond how Jules expects, this is also a truly liberating moment for Jules. The truth is no longer festering inside of her and marring everyday of their friendship.

It’s out there!

If they can mend their relationship lies on both of their shoulders now. Jules has been lying for months to Kennedy and has to work on being more open. And Kennedy has to make a decision on what’s more important and who’s telling the truth, her boyfriend or her best friend?

3. Jules seeking out Ophelia at the end of “Fearless.”

Ophelia acts as a rock for Jules throughout this entire episode and all those before it. She encourages, brings laughter, and makes sure to have Jules back no matter what.

Including hugs, lame puns, and throwing of other BFF’s from your trail with a crazy plan.

There was probably no hesitation in Jules mind when she thought about going to Ophelia’s. This woman never doubts her and is in awe of the strength that she carries inside of her. Who wouldn’t seek comfort and solace in a friend like that?

4. Harris being thrown off Jules trail.

Ophelia proves that she will do just about anything to protect Jules and the mission that they are on. Instead of bringing Harris into the fold, she calls into question his theories, and changes the dynamic of their friendship unknowingly.

Both vigilantes are slowly, but surely, breaking the ties to their past for something bigger than themselves. Here’s hoping that Harris and Kennedy don’t end up being casualties of this overhaul.

5. Barton brings vigilante theory to Darlington.

The saddest casualty so far comes when Barton gets fired. His theories are sound and risk exposing Darlington for their negligence.

Darlington would rather have a vigilante out there, taking care of their problem, instead of admitting that rape on campus is a problem, not just on their campus, but on many campuses.

This could’ve been the start of a conversation, but Darlington decides to take the easy way out again. There’s no doubt that this decision will come back to bite them in the ass, as these things always do.

Until then, we’ve got Jules and Ophelia to clean up the problem they continue to ignore.

6. Ophelia’s plan & execution.

Sweet/Vicious has two Batmans. One of them just so happens to have mermaid hair, can slide across police car hoods, and cut a guy’s forearm like nothing.

Ophelia has proven herself to be extremely capable and willing to take the risk to correct the mistake she’s made. She’s the kind of partner you want at your side when the sh** hits the fan!

7. Ye Olde Vagilantes!

Opehlia’s jokes, puns, and references are perfect additions to a superhero show tackling such thought provoking material. Vagilantes is the latest and greatest additional to this Ophelia vocabulary.

In all honesty, Ophelia deserves a dictionary full of her rich and eloquent language. I’d buy it.

Nick Fink on MTV’s ‘Sweet/Vicious’ [Exclusive Interview]

Lyra is a TV and movie enthusiast. It all started on a dark night when she turned on Fox and fell in love with the X-Files. It was all history after that as she got lost in Doctor Who, The Marvel Verse and most recently everything DC. Her love for Doctor Who lead her to study abroad, where she fell into live-tweeting and the lovely explosion of fandom life that Tumblr is. Her main love for the summer (with a mega re-watch happening) is Arrow. When she isn’t sharing her love for TV and movies she’s writing fan-fiction, taking care of her family, and puttering around her kitchen.
