How To Get Away With Murder Review: We’re Bad People (Season 3 Episode 10)
How to Get Away With Murder Season 3 Episode 10 “We’re Bad People” is a whirlwind of indiscernible emotion. Everyone’s reeling, trying to catch their bearings, trying to hold it together, but with a group as repeatedly traumatized as this, normal is long gone.
The one thing we know for certain, however, is that Wes is a great big mystery.

Case of the Week
People v. Annalise Keating
Two years ago, Wesley Gibbins smashed Sam Keating over the head (spoiler alert), and the sacred covenant of Keating 5 was born. Throughout those two years, How to Get Away With Murder fans found out a great deal about Michaela, Asher, Bonnie, Connor, Laurel, and even Frank.
But each episode remained pretty Wes-lite. He moved, he acted, he worried, he walked and talked, he shot people, but we never knew him. Or at least, I never felt as though I had. He had that brooding thousand yard stare (which, in all fairness, is part and parcel of watching your mother commit suicide in front of you) that always kept you at arm’s length.
Sound familiar? (*cough*Scorpio*cough*)
Now that Wes is gone, we see each character presumably remember and reminisce about their last good moment with him:
- Annalise learns about his internship.
- Laurel worries about his condom breaking during sex.
- Doucheboo asks him to vouch for his accidental racism.
- Connor wonders if maybe they ought to keep their respective significant others out of harm’s way.
- Michaela helps him shop for Meggy’s gift.
Each of these are magical and surreal moments wherein we learn a bit about Wes, but the moments are much more about how he was viewed by everyone else when they weren’t fighting to stay out of prison. Or at least how they wanted to view him. The world was bright and shiny for just a moment, and all disagreements were erased.

Wes was where their lives took a dreadful turn, yes, and on “We’re Bad People,” Wes becomes the canvas onto which each character projects their grief.
What’s that saying? “Funerals are for the living.”
So what now? Mom’s in jail for big brother’s murder, and Aunt Bonnie doesn’t quite have that maternal touch. With so many different personalities in play, it’s hard to tell which direction this could go.
I do know one thing, however: Annalise gets to stew, but she’s eventually going to have to get up off her ass and when that moment comes, it will be glorious. You are not played by an Oscar-nominated actor for nothing, ma’am!
Questions were answered from the mid-season finale: Wes is the father of Laurel’s baby, Oliver reacted in just the co-dependent way you’d expect, Annalise may actually kick her addiction in prison, and Frank is hard at work on getting that beard back.
Murder of the Week
None. We get a bereavement week, it seems.
Wayward Case Files
- Simon’s not around this week, and we still don’t know why he ever was.
- Laurel’s a Pisces princess, but it seemed like her relationship with Wes pushed her into “ordinary human citizen” territory.
- Connor is so damaged, even Goodwill wouldn’t accept him. But, oh, Oliver. “You are my life.” Oh, boy.
- Would love to see a Laurel/Meggy friendship, but at the same time, Meggy needs to run from all of them.
- Annalise’s cellmate had a wonderful speech on how it feels to be even the most revered Black woman. No matter how high you get…
- Only from Annalise could the phrase, “you did your best” carry such sting.
