Grimm Review: El Cuegle (Season 6 Episode 4)

Grimm, Reviews

“Foretold our fate, by the gods’ decree, all heard and none believed the prophecy.”

On Grimm Season 6 Episode, “El Cuegle,” we’re back to the Wesen of the week, unfortunately. This is the final season. It would have been nice to cut out the procedural element.

Alas, that’s not what’s happening, so let’s discuss el cuegle and his eyes that see the past, present, and future. How does this guy watch TV if one of his eyes sees the past? Is that an all the time thing or just when a vision comes?

Hank: How many babies can one guy eat?

Wu: Is that a real question or a riddle?

The best part of the case is the moral dilemma that Nick and Hank face: do they let the cuegle eat Auggie to save Paul (the jerk) and Hailey, or do they do their job and save Auggie’s life?

It’s not an easy question to solve. At the end of the hour, Auggie’s life is saved, but there’s this ominous feeling that Nick and Hank may have lent a hand in the murder of Paul and Hailey. If I ever have children, I am not getting them a blanket with bears on them, that’s for sure.

Aside from that, the case is just all right. What did you think of the case?

Diana and Renard are really adorable together. I’d totally watch a Cooking with Diana TV show, wouldn’t you?

Renard is a lot more likable when he’s with Diana. Seeing the two of them together is a reminder that Renard’s not a completely evil person. He’s a good father, and his eyes light up around Diana.

Of course, he is still Renard, and this new version of Renard is determined to take down Nick. He basically tells Diana to hurt/kill Nick if he ever hurts Adalind.

On top of that, Renard tells Diana that Nick’s the reason why Adalind doesn’t love him. Dream on, Renard.

Diana probably will not hesitate to take Nick out; it doesn’t matter to her that he’s Kelly’s dad (and she likes Kelly), her parents being together and in love is her number one priority. It would be interesting if Diana did do something to hurt Nick because we’d get to see how Adalind reacts.

I’m not saying I want something major to happen, but I feel like even the smallest thing will result in Adalind lecturing Diana. The two of them have such a fragile relationship that watching them have a fight or watching Adalind try to discipline Diana would be entertaining.

On the other side, Nick may be the one to try to discipline Diana or to get upset with her, and Adalind might rush to Diana’s defense. Diana hurting Nick will either damage Nadalind or Diana and Adalind’s relationship.

If Eve had a pick, I’m guessing she would prefer that Diana cause a rift between Nick and Adalind.

Eve hardcore eavesdrops on Nick and Adalind, and it upsets her to hear them talk about their love for each other. Um, Eve, what’s going on? It looks like your Juliette is showing.

We still don’t exactly know what’s going on with Eve, and, well, we still don’t know how Eve became Eve. There are a lot of Eve and Juliette questions, which will hopefully be answered sometime soon.

What did you think of this episode of Grimm? Does anyone have a theory as to what’s going on with the magical stick? I think that it should just forever stay in that box in the tunnel. It’s dangerous. Share your thoughts in the comments below!
