10 Things We Want From The Vampire Diaries Season 8
7. For Matt to get the normal life he seeks
No one can say Matt isn’t a fighter. He’s escaped death numerous times and has managed to remain the token human during the entirety of the show’s run.
Matt has spent years reconciling his dislike of the supernatural with the fact that the majority of his closest friends are vampires, witches, and werewolves.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if the final kindness his friends provide him is compulsion so his slate can be wiped clean. He deserves a fresh start.
8. Bonnie to go out with a bang
When Elena was still alive, Bonnie’s character was mainly used as a magical plot device. With Elena gone, Bonnie finally got to stretch her legs and become the character she was always capable of being.
If the show goes through with the whole when Bonnie dies Elena will wake up scenario, then Bonnie deserves to go out on top. She deserves to get her powers back, take out the ultimate evil, and save all her friends and the world in the process.
She deserves a hero’s ending.
9. Elena and Damon to reunite
Julie Plec stated the plan was always for Nina Dobrev to return for the series finale. Nothing would please Delena fans more than to see their OTP reunited.
It took far too long for these two to get on the same page, but they certainly didn’t disappoint once they become a real couple.
Damon makes terrible decisions time and time again, but he usually does so out of love. Let’s have the dark romantic horse reunite with his true love.
10. For the Salvatore brothers to take center stage as the curtains close on The Vampire Diaries
Even though the Stefan-Elena-Damon love triangle was a central focus season after season, the heart of this show was always the love between the Salvatore brothers.
Despite numerous falling-outs over decades, Stefan and Damon always manage to save one another, sometimes from themselves.
Stefan and Damon deserve a moment to acknowledge that they will always be there for each other, no matter what.

Not a very objective article, it’s a shame.
Great list! I agree with everything, especially about Bonnie, Alaric, and Steroline.
You know, Caroline is in love with Stefan and that’s a fact. She is not going to change her mind from one day to another. If she didn’t fall in love with Klaus during the whole time she was stalking her, why would she now? You all claim to love Caroline Forbes but never respect the choices of the character. On the contrary, you want her to be paired with a guy that hurt her physically (yeah, when he stabbed that lamp through her chest; or when he ordered Tyler to bite her just for fun, remember?; or when he pretended to be Tyler just to have sex with Caroline and actually he was about to, which would have been rape if she wouldn’t have noticed, thank God she realized and stopped him). Her choice is Stefan, period, there’s nothing more than that.
