11 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About NCIS: Los Angeles
We’re closer to 200 than we are to a 100 episodes of the CBS series NCIS: Los Angeles, and yet, sometimes, it seems like only yesterday that we were watching the show’s backdoor pilot over on NCIS. We’ve come a long way.
They’ve come a long way.
We know Callen’s name now! We don’t like Hetty anymore (at least, not always). Kensi and Deeks are an actual functioning couple. And Eric still wears shorts to work.
So, in honor of the show we still, after all these years, love, here are some things you probably didn’t know about NCIS: LA and its cast.

1. Daniela Ruah and Eric Christian Olsen, who plays Kensi Blye and Marty Deeks, a couple on the show, are actually related. Well, sort of.
Ruah is married to Olsen’s older brother, David Paul Olsen, who is also his stunt double. Now, that’s awkward.

2. The real name of Chris O’Donnell’s character, billed as G. Callen for seven seasons, is Grisha Alexandrovich Nikolaev. His first name, Grisha, is a diminutive of Gregory.
3. In 2006, way before she was cast as Kensi Blye, Daniela Ruah won the Portuguese version of the reality competition show Dancing with the Stars.
4. On the Season 3 episode, Blye K, Deeks guesses Kensi’s computer password to be KINGOFTHEWORLD because he knows her favorite movie to be Titanic. This movie is the one she went to see with her friends the night her father was killed.
5. Callen spent time in 37 different foster homes when he was a kid.
6. Deeks shot his father in self-defense when he was only 11 years old.
7. On NCIS: LA Season 4 Episode 5, “The Fifth Man,” the mothers of the four main cast members, LL Cool J, Chris O’Donnell, Eric Christian Olsen and Daniela Ruah, make an appearance as four friends playing in a casino.
8. Henrietta Lange is a skilled x-box player.
9. Callen is a New England Patriots fan. Good to know.
10. LL Cool J and Aunjanue Ellis, who plays his wife Michelle, first appeared together in the movie In Too Deep (1999).
11. At the end of Season 1, when Dom (Adam Jamal Craig) was written out of the show, a regular position was offered to Brian Avers (Special Agent Mike Renko).
Avers turned down the contract, and that’s why NCIS: LA cast Eric Christian Olsen to play the character of Marty Deeks and later elevated him to series regular for Season 2.

Thank you Brian Avers, love my Deeks!
Wow…I always wondered why they just didn’t offer Mike Renko a position in NCIS Los Angeles and now I know why. I guess the actor (Brian Avers) wanted to be able to be free to do other work instead of being tied to a series. Oh well….then we wouldn’t have Deeks!
Don’t let Eric Christian Olsen die keep all 4 people they work together they make the show it want be same one of them leave keep together
Why was Dom written out? Was it always written that way or was he just not a good fit for the show?
I was disappointed ☹️ with Adams leaving the show, I felt that you didn’t give him a chance unless his contact ran out and he didn’t want to renew it.
Why was Michelle written off the show? Did she want to go onto other things or they (writers n directors) needed a new twist?
Who doesn’t like Hetty she’s as much a part of the show as the other members.
