Heroes and Villains Fan Fest: 5 Things We Learned About Arrow

Arrow

Blizzard Jonas thought that he could stop us from having a good time at Heroes and Villains Fan Fest (HVFF) last weekend, but he was oh, so wrong!

HVFF and it’s attendees pushed through and arrived in droves to check out their favorite art, costumes, and the select panels available.

Luckily, we got to attend The CW’s Arrow panel, and it did not disappoint in teasing both what’s to come and what it’s like to be part of such a huge production! Here are 5 things we learned from the panel.

1. You Didn’t Imagine It, Felicity Isn’t Wearing Her Ring

Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen) made it clear that Felicity’s missing ring isn’t an accident. He even joked that it was most likely his fault. We’ll be sitting on the edge of our seats waiting to see who’s in the grave and what drove our OTP (One True Pairing) apart. Let’s hope it’s something original.

2. Canary Cry Is Inserted Post Production

It’s all a lie! Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance) has to jump into action and make us believe that she’s screaming, when in reality, nothing is happening. In a surprising act, she jumped to the front of the stage to display her “mock cry.” As soon as she opened her mouth John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn) and Katrina Law (Nyssa) started withering in pain. It makes one wonder what other moments are added in later on!

3. More Slade!

Stephen wants Manu Bennett (Slade Wilson) back on Arrow. He saw Slade as a “transformative villain” who changed the Arrow verse forever. Manu was a great addition to our Wednesday nights. His presence is still out there, so let’s cross our fingers and keep hope alive even though he’s currently a series regular on The Shannara Chronicles!

4. John Barrowman Wants To Be Felicity

Without a doubt, Arrow is full of strong and capable women. Surprisingly enough, John Barrowman wants to be Felicity. (Not because he wants to kiss Stephen amell. He already did that!) He recognizes the unstoppable tenacity with which she deals with anything in her life, and he admires it. Felicity isn’t even afraid of Merlyn! That’s a woman he can get behind.

5. Arrow Advances Careers

Stephen Amell was especially proud of the way that Arrow has changed the lives of its crew. It’s a place where growth is encouraged and required. One day you could be doing stunts, and then the next directing an episode (looking at you James Bamford.) It’s all about dreaming big and knowing the actors, crew, writers, directors, and producers all have your back.

We’re definitely excited to see what the rest of this season brings!

Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8/7 c on The CW.

Lyra is a TV and movie enthusiast. It all started on a dark night when she turned on Fox and fell in love with the X-Files. It was all history after that as she got lost in Doctor Who, The Marvel Verse and most recently everything DC. Her love for Doctor Who lead her to study abroad, where she fell into live-tweeting and the lovely explosion of fandom life that Tumblr is. Her main love for the summer (with a mega re-watch happening) is Arrow. When she isn’t sharing her love for TV and movies she’s writing fan-fiction, taking care of her family, and puttering around her kitchen.
