Jane the Virgin: What We Know About Season 2!
Okay, so here’s where we left off on Jane the Virgin:
Jane Villanueva had finally given birth to that artificially inseminated little bundle of joy, Mateo, and decided to focus on no other man in her life. Sorry Michael and Rafael…Jane’s got no time for drama now that she’s a mama!
Unexpectedly, Sin Rostro (who is actually Rafael’s crazy stepmother Rose) kidnapped little Mateo, leaving viewers to bite their nails anxiously all summer while wondering about the little guy’s fate.
Jane’s mother Xo got drunk and married telenovela star Rogelio De La Vega, who just happens to be Jane’s father. And Michael, Jane’s ex-fiance, set a trap for his ex-partner (and sometimes lover) Nadine to lead him to Sin Rostro.
All caught up? Great.
While Jane won’t be back on our screens for a few more weeks, there’s still a lot to discuss about our favorite new mommy!
Here are a few tidbits we’ve learned about Jane the Virgin Season 2:
Sin Rostro will return!
Bridget Regan will be reprising her role as the elusive redhead, and we can’t be more excited to see what kind of drama she’s causing for Jane and co. this season.
Rogelio and Xo’s Drunken Wedding Bells are Still Ringing!
Andrea Navedo, who plays Jane’s perpetually childlike mother Xo, says that we’ll see the fallout of their drunken nuptials, telling EW, “It’s pretty funny how they handle it.” We can’t wait to see!
The Legendary Miss Britney Spears!
We don’t know a lot about her appearance yet, but we do know that Ms. Spears, in an exaggerated role of herself, has quite a long history with Jane’s father Rogelio and there’s a huge rivalry there. Can we already proclaim to be Team Rogelio?
Jane and Mateo Will Be Reunited
Like, almost immediately. Thankfully, because let’s face it, this is a comedy at heart despite all of the drama.
Ke$ha!
It’s going down and she’s yelling, “Timber!” Ke$ha will be appearing as Jane’s next door neighbor who can’t stand new baby Mateo. We hope she changes her mind and sticks around!
The Love Triangle is Far From Over
Just because Jane doesn’t want another man in her life right now doesn’t mean the battle between Mateo’s father Rafael and Jane’s former fiancé Michael is over. In fact, showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman has confirmed that Jane will be walking down the aisle this season!
What are your hopes for Season Two? Team Rafael or Team Michael? Sound off below!
