Another Vampire Baby on The Vampire Diaries?

Is there another vampire bun in the oven?

Well, maybe not on The Vampire Diaries, but there certainly is in Candice Accola’s life!

Last October, Accola (Caroline Forbes) married her rockstar boyfriend Joe King in a beautiful and boisterous New Orleans wedding. Seriously, go check out the pictures, they’re ten kinds of gorgeous!

Now, it looks like Accola and King are welcoming a new member to their little family, as they announced via instagram this morning that the actress is pregnant with their first child. Congrats to the lucky couple, that will be one good looking kid!

But what does this mean for Accola’s character on The Vampire Diaries?

Hard to tell.

Three years ago, we would have scoffed at the idea of incorporating the pregnancy into the show’s storyline. These are vampires after all! Vampires don’t have kids!

But after The Originals spinoff centered their show around the unlikely conception of Klaus’ miracle child… the possibility of Caroline Forbes ending up pregnant is not as off the table as it might have been before.

With vampire lore shifting around quite a bit this season (witch/vampire hybrids, y’all!), it’s entirely possible that the TVD universe might be welcoming another baby into the mix. Steroline was having sex on any available surface for a while there, so who’s to say that the laws of nature didn’t bend a little during one of their couplings?

During a CW cast interview at San Diego Comic Con this summer, Candice cheekily answered: “I think Caroline’s going to grow significantly throughout this year in many ways — spiritually, physically… I think we can expect a whole new Caroline.”

That sounds like a pretty definitive answer to us!

What do you guys think? Will Caroline be getting rounder in Season 7 of The Vampire Diaries? Or will strategically placed purses and artfully constructed clothes be used to conceal the bump?
