9 Things We Really Want from Arrow Season 4

Arrow

We’re all still marking the days off our calendars until Arrow returns, and even if there are only eight more weeks, it feels like an eternity.

In an effort to help you get through these hiatus blues, we’ve pulled together a list of 9 things we really want from Arrow  Season 4! Read through our hopeful suggestions, and add your own to comments below if you think we missed anything!

1. Olicity

Is it any wonder that this one heads up the list of MUST HAVE items for Arrow  Season 4? The relationship between Oliver and Felicity was turbulent and messy last year, which is always fun to watch, but for the new season, we’d argue it’s high time for Felicity and Oliver to leave all the drama behind. We know we’ll have to return to the angst eventually, but for at least a few episodes, can’t they just argue over pizza toppings and shared closet space? Please?

2. No more Ra’s Al Ghul

We swear, if we have to hear the name ‘Ra’s Al Ghul’ – in any of its varied pronunciations – one more time, we might scream. Malcolm Merlyn took charge of The League of Assassins at the end of last year, but hopefully he’ll put a new spin on it so that we don’t have to keep this Ra’s story going for another 23 episodes.

3. Sara’s Resurrection

With Sara starring in the new DC’s Legends of Tomorrow spinoff, it’s obvious they’re going to have to bring her back from the dead somehow. The Legends trailer pretty heavily implies it will be through the Lazarus Pit at Nanda Parbat. However she’s brought back to life, we hope it features heavily in the first half of Arrow‘s season, just so we can get one last chance to see Sara with her peeps in Starling City before she heads over to the spinoff.

4. Love for Laurel

Poor Laurel has had the raw end of the deal romantically, and she’s spent the last couple of seasons ditching the boy drama to work on her independence and fighting skills. All very important things for an empowered female character. But just because she kicks ass, it doesn’t mean she can’t find time for romance too! We’d love to see Laurel get a new love interest this year.

5. Crossovers! Crossovers! Crossovers!

Last year, The Flash and Arrow had a record number of crossovers between their two shows. When you count up all the small appearances, guest stars, and two night events, you get something like seven crossovers? Maybe eight? That’s insane! As Arrow progresses into Season 4, let’s hope that crossover streak continues, with both The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Maybe Supergirl can even get in on the crossover action!

6. A Diggle/Oliver Reconciliation

After Oliver’s shenanigans as Al Sah Him last year, his relationship with Diggle seemed irreparably damaged. Even their bygones speech in the finale reeked of betrayal and resentment. And who can blame Diggle? Oliver kidnapped his wife! Even if it takes a while (it had better!) we hope that Diggle and Oliver can start rebuilding their partnership and get back to a good place.

Suicide_Squad

7. Suicide Squad Reappearance

With the Suicide Squad movie set to release in 2016, chances are we probably won’t be seeing Arrow‘s version of these cantankerous criminals again anytime soon. Still, it would be awesome to see  Deadshot (he’s totally still alive, guys), Cupid, Shrapnel, and the ever-tricksy Amanda Waller back for more in Season 4.

8. Thea as Speedy

No one was more excited than we were when Thea finally – FINALLY! – put on that red suit and took her place as Green Arrow’s sidekick, Speedy. Now that Oliver is away, she’s taken up the responsibility of saving the city, and we’re ready to see Speedy in action. More importantly, we’re ready to see her and Oliver side by side, fighting crime and firing arrows. Pretty please!

9. A Musical Episode

Yeah, yeah, this one is never happening. But did you guys see Stephen Amell’s beautiful rendition of Part of Your World this summer at Nerd HQ? That boy has got some pipes, and other shows have pulled off musical episodes before! We’re sure Grant Gustin could lend his voice to the cause, and you just know John Barrowman would be down for this. Think about it, Marc Guggenheim!
