Fear the Walking Dead, News, Previews, The Walking Dead

Hello again, fellow zombie lovers! I come bearing more news for Fear the Walking Dead!

Lately, it seems like the highly anticipated The Walking Dead spinoff has been all over my social media and I, for one, could not be more thrilled about all the new information that has been flying our way regarding the show as its August 23 premiere date draws near (cue excited squealing).

In the wake of San Diego Comic-Con and the full length trailer that came with it, we now have a whole slew of promotional shots from the series! Check them out:

But hang on, guys, that’s not all! AMC has also released an official synopsis for Season 1:

Living in the same universe as The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead is a gritty drama that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family. Set in a city where people come to escape, shield secrets, and bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counselor Madison Clark and English teacher Travis Manawa have managed to assemble. The everyday pressure of blending two families while dealing with resentful, escapist, and strung out children takes a back seat when society begins to break down. A forced evolution, a necessary survival of the fittest takes hold, and our dysfunctional family must either reinvent themselves or embrace their darker histories.

Darker histories, you say?

What are we thinking here? Are they reformed mob bosses turned educators? A secret crime family with some serious connections?

…Closet badasses disguised as teachers and teenagers?

Let me know your theories!

Fear the Walking Dead premieres Sunday, August 23rd on AMC.

Post-apocalyptic and dystopian settings are her kryptonite, and she has a strange soft spot for anything that involves the walking dead (the creatures themselves, not the show -- but the show is good, too). You can usually find her engrossed in shows like Preacher, The Walking Dead, Sense8, or any one of the many other series that tickle her fancy. Follow Becky on Twitter: @epic_bcky
