Revenge Review: 11 Thoughts About “Bait” (Season 4 Episode 15)
Revenge is back from a brief hiatus, and something about it feels a little off.
I can see that the story line is going somewhere, but “Bait” is a rather slow episode that almost feels like we’re part of another show.
Here are a few thoughts I had while watching:
- I am not on board with Ben and Emily getting together. It rings entirely false.
- I’m not at all invested in what’s happening with Victoria and her new nemesis. Though it is mildly entertaining that Natalie had been testing Victoria all along.
- One of my new favorite dynamics on this show is the relationship between David and Jack. I love their chat on the beach. (PS: Jack has gotten cuter, somehow).
- I love that Nolan describes what he does with Emily as being like superheroes. (Also, is that a theme on ABC lately or what?)
- Louise has really grown on me. And her fashion choices are fabulous.
- I always enjoy watching Emily and Nolan’s plans, especially if they involve Emily acting like a ninja. My favorite part of this episode is seeing their plan to destroy that video (and embarrass Margaux in the process) come to fruition. Even better is that both little Carl and Louise get to help!
- The episode picks up at that point with a confrontation between Emily and Margaux. Okay, maybe this is my favorite part. Margaux makes a worthy adversary for Emily.
- Jack finally gets up the nerve to tell Emily how he feels, and he says all the right the things. It’s actually one of the best declarations of love I’ve seen on a long while, and I’m completely thrilled.
- Emily, however, is infuriating and refuses him without any good explanation as to why. But she also makes sure Jack knows her relationship with Ben isn’t serious. I have to hope this is all part of a bigger scheme.
- Jack has one single tear, then tells Emily he won’t wait for her. Good for him!
- I’m pretty upset that Emily turns Jack down, but if I’m being honest with myself, I know it’s the right choice. I don’t think I would have bought it if she had just leapt into his arms, and I don’t think this show has ever planned on getting them together for a happy ending.
By the way, it looks like things are definitely going to get interesting with the next episode. Here’s a promo:
