Nashville: On the Record 2 – plus tour news!
This week, instead of finding out what’s going to happen now that Rayna knows that Deacon has cancer, we were treated to the second all-music episode Nashville has aired.
Sort of like a Nashville Unplugged, “Nashville: On the Record 2” was filmed at the Grand Ole Opry and featured cast members performing songs from the show. As much as I love the music on Nashville, I was disappointed to not get back into the action of the plot.
The music is good though. And the hour long special was too (including the backstage interviews). Pretty much every main character got a song, including Layla, which I loved.
But most importantly, Reba showed up, which was exciting since she’s, you know, an actual country music star.
I love the idea of having a concert special, but I wish it didn’t happen during the season. This would be a great end of the season extra (hint, hint Empire producers). Right now, I just want to get back to Deacon and Rayna.
In other news, if you enjoy watching the actors perform, they are going on tour! ABC has announced a spring concert tour that will feature Clare Bowen (Scarlett), Chris Carmack (Will), Charles Esten (Deacon), Aubrey Peeples (Layla), and Lennon & Maisy (Maddie and Daphne).
The tour is set to hit New York City, Boston, DC, Chicago, Minneapolis, San Francisco, LA, and Phoenix, and tickets go on sale this Friday (check individual venues or ticketmaster.com to purchase).
Regular episodes of Nashville return April 8, with Juliette’s baby shower! You can bet I’ll be tuning in.
