The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball Preview: Cartoon Network’s Sequel Series Gets a Time Jump
The Watterson family is officially coming back on The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball following The Amazing World of Gumball‘s climactic conclusion.
While fans of the original show have been waiting to get some answers, the sequel series to one of Cartoon Network’s best shows might provide them.
Though not much has been revealed about The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball, there has been some news. Most notably, Gumball will now be voiced by Wizards Beyond Waverly Place‘s Alkaio Thiele, and Darwin will be voiced by Hero Hunter.
The show itself will also see a time jump from the original series, taking place seven years following the series finale of The Amazing World of Gumball Season 6. However, the lovable Elmore family will stay the same ages they’ve always been.
In addition, the stories of some episodes have also been revealed thanks to Annecy Film Festival. From Miss Simian stealing Elmore Junior High’s budget for her own personal endeavors to Gumball and Darwin dealing with generational trauma, this series has much to offer.
However, the main storyline involving the static void from The Amazing World of Gumball Season 6 is what fans hope to see resolved in this show. While the answer to that question remains a mystery, there’s no doubt that it will have an impact on what the Wattersons face in the future.
