Suits: 5 Things We Really Want From Season 5B

Suits: 5 Things We Really Want From Season 5B

Suits

Suits is finally coming back from its hiatus on January 27th for the second half of Season 5.

The first half of Season 5 was absolutely amazing. It took a whole new turn to the show, and started to show the personal, and emotional lives of our favorite lawyers at Pearson Specter Litt. They weren’t invincible anymore, throwing the law around whenever things got tough; they were humans with human problems that made human mistakes.

It was refreshing to see, and I cannot wait to see what the second half will bring.

If you haven’t seen the beginning of the fifth season of Suits and don’t want any spoilers, it is suggested you stop reading now.

Since the show comes back soon, I’ve put together a list of five things I’d like to see happen before the finale.

5. New cases with longer arcs

One of my favorite cases from Suits was Hessington Oil from season three. Not only did the story stretch for a good chunk of the season, it also showed different sides to Harvey, Louis, Mike, and Jessica. Recently, it’s felt like each case has been on an episode-to-episode basis, and very much in the background of the situation. Even though Season 5 has started to focus on humanizing these characters, I would love to see some fun, new cases surface in the midst of everything.

4. For Louis to become a more developed, dynamic character

It’s so tiring to follow Louis. Just when he redeems himself for doing something incredibly horrible, he does something worse. He apologizes and empathizes, and even begs for forgiveness, but after about every five episodes, his character is reset to the same, static character he started off in the first season. I want him to pick a side. Is he a villain or is he an anti-hero? Whose side is he on? Is he loyal? I just want to know where his intentions lie, and for him to just stick with them — for once.

3. Mike and Rachel: make it or break it

I am absolutely exhausted watching the merry-go-round that is Mike and Rachel. They’re together, and they have to break up, then get back together, and then she’s blaming him for not getting her perfect wedding, and why she can’t have children. She’s known about Mike’s secret for a while now, and if she was really this worried about her perfect wedding or future children, she shouldn’t have said yes when he proposed. I just want to see them either together or broken apart — so they can both experience some new loves — and we can get some new characters.

2. Reconciliation Between Donna and Harvey

Personally, I want them to reconcile as friends, on a personal level. Sure, they’ve accepted that Donna has moved on after 12 years, and sure, they talk to each other- but I want them to be friends again. I want the subtle flirting and the witty remarks with the angry heated arguments and the supportive pep talks. Now that Donna doesn’t work for Harvey anymore, they can even be together if they choose to be. But first, they need to apologize for all the crappy things they said to each other, and how they acted. They need to be friends again before they even reconsider a relationship.

1. Humanizing Harvey

The beginning half of the season did a great job at this, and I honestly just want it to continue. One way I would love to see this happen is by introducing more of Harvey’s family. Some of the best episodes in my opinions are the ones where we see Harvey’s interactions with his dad. It would be great to see his relationship with his mom now, and obviously, Harvey in less than formal clothes. Its fun to see Harvey with his guard down and even vulnerable, because we’re just not used to it. And I think I won’t get tired of it any time soon.

  • My wife and I really like Suits but why must there be so much foul language. The writers have gone overboard with the use of “shit” and “God Damm” Not saying to eliminate completely but just cut back a bit. Not everyone enjoys hearing that so much.
